The diabolo is a traditional Chinese performance prop and folk toy. A string runs between 2 sticks held in the hands, and is used to support and accelerate the spinning diabolo. Once it is up to speed, the diabolo can be thrown all about and made to do all sorts of tricks. Larger, heavier diabolos tend to spin longer and are easier to keep on the string, while lighter, smaller ones work well for high throws.

Phoenix Diabolo is just one of the great products from Duncan. Let me start with its outstanding rubber handles that prevent the sticks from slipping out of your hands. The front of the handles are made of a durable hard plastic for great stick tricks like “grinds”. It has standard 5 ¼’ inch cups of hybrid plastic that are tough enough for outdoor play. This is a bonus for beginners because, like it or not, dropping your gear while you practice is a given. If you are the type of person who has to have custom stuff, that’s just fine because the replacement shells are easy to change out. You could also mix and match them with the one’s you already have. Duncan even has light-up conversion kits coming out. Now for the feature that pays for itself…You have the ability to change the axel into a 1 way bearing, WOW!!!!!! It actually allows you to make it spin faster so you can do more tricks without having to expend excess energy to maintain a consistent speed. Also, with the one way bearing, you can perform finger stoles. I would highly recommend this Diabolo to both beginners and advanced skill performers.
