Dutch Blitz is a competitive solitaire frenzy card game for 2 to 4 players. Played in rounds, the object of the game is to be the first to earn 75points. Sounds pretty simple, right? Well what if I told you that everyone is playing at the exact same time and as soon as someone calls out “BLITZ!,” your cards will count against you? That’s right, each round is a race to get rid of pile of ten cards (called the blitz pile) from you deck. You do this by playing them either in the center playing area in ascending order (1-10 based on color) or in your own post piles which are in descending order. With the help of your deck, you flip through cards, solitaire style, to aid in getting rid of your blitz pile. Once you get rid of your blitz pile, the round is over. The cards you placed in the center count for 1 point each and any left in your blitz pile (if you didn’t call blitz this round) counts for -2 points each. Over the course of one night my fiancé and I played Dutch Blitz and before we knew it, the clock read 3:00am! Needless to say, this fast paced reaction card game can be delightfully addicting.

Dutch Blitz is a fast paced game that is good for 2-4 players. Each player picks a deck from the four that are included in the package. They shuffle their cards and place three of them face up infront of them (these are called the post piles). They then count out 10 cards and put them on the right of the post piles (known as the blitz pile). The remaining of the cards stay face down until one of the players indicates to start.

Dutch Blitz game play is very simular to playing solitare. The 1's are the equivalent of an ace. So any 1 cards that our found are out into the middle of the table to form Dutch piles that any of the players can use to get rid of cards of the same color in accending order (1,2,3,4,5....10). This puts in an element of speed since all players are playing together. Off of the post piles you may place cards of every other sex (boy, girl, boy, girl) in decending order (10,9,8,7...2).

The person who goes out first is the first person who empties all the cards from the blitz pile. To do this you either need to place them on the dutch piles or on the post piles. If there is an empty space for a post pile (from playing it either on another post pile or into a dutch pile) it will be replaced from the Blitz pile. This helps remove cards quicker.

The game ends when one person reaches 75 points. Any cards left in a players blitz pile after someone calles "Blitz" are worth -2 points. Where all of the cards placed into the dutch piles are sorted out and are worth 1 point. You keep playing the game until one player reaches 75 points.
