Hey, That's My Fish! |
Hey, That’s My Fish! is an engaging, award-winning board game of strategic fish hunting, in which 2-4 players control determined penguins hungry for their next meal on a bustling Antarctic ice floe. Do you have the mettle to grab more fishy meals than your feathered foes?
Since Hey, That’s My Fish! was originally published in 2003, it has become widely popular as an engrossing and strategic board game for casual family and tactical play, and it was even recommended in 2006 for the Speil des Jahres award. Now, Fantasy Flight Games is proud to publish this definitive edition of the game, which includes a new box, new penguin miniatures, and new artwork.
Your job seems simple: race across a random arrangement of icy fish deposits with a colony of up to four penguins, as you attempt to seize the most fish. But watch out! Competing penguins will try to block you off while the ice floe around you shrinks away. Grab the best fish and outmaneuver your opponents to ensure victory. Whichever player’s penguins collect the most fish by the end of the game is the winner!
Hey, That’s My Fish! is infinitely replayable. The 60 hexagonal tiles that each display 1-3 fish are used to randomly construct the board, which will have your penguins traveling a differently shaped path every game. As you hone your strategy with every new map, will the icy shapes lead to your demise or will you claim victory?
Hey, That’s My Fish! is frenzied fun for any setting, from a light and family-friendly experience to a tense and strategically satisfying face-off. Easy to learn, this exciting board game is accessible for players of any experience level, from casual to competitive gamer.

With the re-release of Hey, That's My Fish by Fantasy Flight Games as part of their Silver Line collection, I felt it deserved a new review. With this release, Hey, That's My Fish retains all the fun and cuteness that made the original so enjoyable. However, this time it's in a small, easy transportable package.
In Hey, That's My Fish, each player assumes the role of a group of like colored penguins (e.g., red or green) trying to collect as many fish as possible. These penguins are represented by well detailed minis in a variety of poses. With penguins in hand, the players then set up the board, which consists of tiny hexagonal pieces. Each piece has between one and three fishes represented on it. The pieces are organized into your standard rectangular board.
Once everything is set up, the players take turns placing all of their penguins. Once placed, the players can then choose to move their penguins.
This is where the fun and strategy comes in. Penguins can move as far as the player wants. However, they can only move in a straight line (much like a queen in chess). Also, when a penguin moves off a tile, the player takes that tile. This is how they actually catch fish. This tile removal adds a great strategy element to the game. Players have to plan how their moves affect both themselves and others. That is, players need to be careful to not cut themselves off from a so desired supply of fish while actively trying to cut other players off.
All in all Hey, That's My Fish is a great strategy game that can be enjoyed by both adults and children alike. It also makes a great introduction for kids into the realm of strategy games.

This is a deceptively simple game where you control a small group of penguins trying to collect as many fish as possible from the ever shrinking ice flow. You accomplish this by moving your penguins in straight paths and collecting the fish tile that you were standing on before you moved this turn. As tiles are removed the Ice flow becomes more and more difficult to traverse. Play continues until all penguins on the board can no longer move. Focus your efforts not only collecting fish but on manipulating the ice flow and you may be surprised how cut throat these cut little penguins can really be.
