Ingenious is the new abstract placement game from internationally-renowned game designer Reiner Knizia. Players place colored tiles on the hexagonal board, scoring points, blocking opponents’ tile placement, and trying to protect themselves from being blocked by their opponents.
Marvelously elegant and compulsively replayable, Ingenious is an excellent introduction to German-style abstract board games. It’s ingeniously simple, and simply ingenious!

Ingenious is an interesting abstract strategy game where you are only as far ahead as your furthest behind score. It's a colorful game that sort of plays like Dominoes, but would be more similar to Qwirkle. As you lay a new tile down, you score out in different directions, based on how many other tiles share a color with it. You have a score pad with 6 different markers, for each of the different colors, but your overall score is what your lowest score is. If you have 20 points in every color except yellow, which is only at 2, then your score is 2. It's a great game that gets you thinking in different directions. It also forces you to balance yourself out, and try to maximize your pieces.
