Runebound |
Hefting his axe, Mordrog looked out over the hills. He has walked over mountains, through rivers, across reeking swamps, and now he stands before his goal. As he draws closer he can see the dragons scales reflecting the pale moonlight. Taking one last glance behind him, Mordrog charges ahead. He bellows at the wyrm, and swings his axe with all his might. A terrifying roar echoes through the night air, and the dragon rears back to see what loathsome creature has attacked it. Snapping forward, mouth open wide, the dragon attacks. Finally, Mordrog thinks, a challenge.

Game Daze Arizona Mills Mall Employee Recommendation, May 2010
Mikiye -
Runebound is a game with multiple diversities for players to stay interested for hours. The game centers around one goal that is easy to follow but hard to achieve. Overall I give the game an 8/10 because there is a strong learning curve. However, the franchise could keep players for years.

Game Daze Chandler Fashion Center Employee Review, May 2009
James-
If you're looking for adventure, magic, and dragons; then look no further. Dive into an incredible role-playing board game made by English designer Martin Wallace. First you have to choose a character, with Runebound you can actually buy extra character packs. Each character starts with three gold tokens, and places their character in the town of Tamalir. The object of the game is to ultimately be able to face the most difficult level of monster which are indicated by the color red. The adventure counters are set up across the board in color cordinated spaces. Depending on what character you have, they will have attributes in either spirit, mind, and body. All three of these directly associate with a type of combat (ranged, melee and magic) and also has an associated damage for that type of combat.
During your turn depending on what you roll you can travel across rivers, mountains, and even hills. There are other towns besides Tamalir with markets on them. Landing on these different towns allows you access to the market cards to buy, and increase different parameters of your character. Also, you are able to attack a creature, but be careful they are rated by color, green being the beginning for your starting player. Be expected to have other players attack, because that is a possibility in this game. The game is expected usually to run between two, and fours so be prepared with some snacks. :D
