Shootin' Ladders: Frag Fest |
Another Good Game Gone Bad. This game builds upon the popularity of Run for your Life, Candyman! with another in our parody board game line. The gingerbread men have left the confines of their sugar-frosted land and let their rage spill over into yet another family favorite board game, where total carnage has its 'ups and downs'. The board's original slides and ladders once helped teach kids about morality. But in SHOOTIN' LADDERS: Frag Fest, you'll more likely learn a lesson in 'mortality' and that everyone gets their just desserts. So sling your M&M16, load your Dessert Eagle and get ready to blast the other cookies to bits as you climb and slide your way to victory!
7 ACTION-PACKED SCENARIOS with Team Play & Free-For-All Modes: The Quick and the Crumbed; Candyman Flag Capture; Trophy Room; Head Hunter; Crumble Zone; The Guns of Tobleronne; The Dirty Half Dozen.
For 3 to 8 twisted players.

Ever had the urge to attack someone with an AK-47? Maybe a 38. Special, No? How about a hot tamale flamethrower? Oh yes! You heard me right. In Shootin’ Ladders you can do just that. This amped up version of the classic Chutes-n-Ladders has a clean violent twist. Instead of racing from start to finish, you and your opponents play gingerbread men racing up ladders and sliding down chutes while attempting to steal body parts. Of course this amazing game doesn’t just have one game…it has 7! So you get bored with one version, move onto the next. There’s the simple game to a capture the flag version. Of course though it’s not just that the game has 7 different plays, but the weapons add to its twisted humor. Tearing opponents limbs off with an “even the Skors Bar” or blowing someone to bits with your “Rocket Pops,” you can’t go wrong. So next time your aggravated at someone, invite them to a nice game of Shootin’ Ladders.

Game Daze Arrowhead Mall Employee Review, January 2010

Have you ever gone back to one of your favorite kids games, and been disappointed at how simple and now boring it is? And then you begin to wonder why you ever liked it, then begin to wish you could recapture the fun you had as a kid with that game. Thus enters Smirk and Dagger the creators of Shootin Ladders: Frag Fest. It takes the board of Chutes and Ladders, the theme of Candy Land and then adds in your favorite First Person shooter, death and carnage (of ginger bread men).
So load your M&M 16 with full candy jacket ammo; don your Kevlar icing; and prepare to let the ginger bread limbs fly. As you can tell the theme is heavy and carried throughout the game. When firing a weapon you roll special dice that indicate the body part which is hit, by showing different candies. So, yes you can blow off someones candy button, and get hit in the candy corn. It is all about fun and a good time so don't ask how you can still be alive without a candy swirl (head); or how your limbless body got up that ladder. Just keep shooting.
Many games with such a heavy theme will just let that carry them, but Shootin Ladders: Frag Fest has a number of scenarios to keep the game fresh and new. There is a fast lets learn the rules all out shooter, classic capture the flag, and of course all vs. one (the sniper). Rules are simple and fast to learn. There is a lot of space for house rules and customization. This is a game that serious gamers and casual will be able to enjoy together, well at least be able to cause each other to crumble.
