Each player writes a guess to a question such as “In what year did the bikini swimsuit makes its first appearance?” or “How many feet wide is an NFL football field?” and places it face-up on the betting mat. Wits and Wagers has to be hands down the best trivia game I have ever played. Unlike every other trivia game I have played, you don't have to get the answers right to win! North Star Games has developed an innovative way to dish out the points besides getting the "right" answer. The way it works is everyone writes down their own answer on there personal white boards, and when everyone is done you reveal them and place them on the board from lowest to highest.(Every answer will be a number ie: year, distance...)
Then everyone has 30 seconds to bet their points on which ever answer they think is closest to the actual answer without going over. Depending on where on the board the winning answer is, the bigger the pay could be! (There is even a small bonus to the person who got the "right" answer). Every round you can only bet a set number of points, but the last round is where the game can take huge turns, for you can bet as many points as you want! (As long as you have them of course, no loans in this version.)
Aside from being the most unique trivia game I have played, it has the added benifit of always keeping the players involved. There's no turns, everyone is always talking/blufing/betting or just goofing around, having a blast!
Add in the fact that you can play with up to 20 people, Wits and Wagers is a party waiting to happen!
